This article explains how Chat billing works and how Pro and Max included usage for basic and advanced models is defined relative to free users (if anything changes, follow the latest in-product copy).
How Chat is billed
While you stay within included usage, no credits are deducted. After you exceed included usage, the product charges credits based on token usage, the model tier you pick, and factors such as context length and tool calls for that turn. The amount shown at settlement in the app is what counts.
Pro / Max included usage (relative to the free tier)
Pro and Max allowances for basic and advanced models are defined relative to the free-tier limits, not as standalone numbers in isolation:
| Model tier | Free | Pro | Max |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic models | Dynamic limit | 10× the free-tier allowance | Unlimited (within product terms) |
| Advanced models | Dynamic limit | 2× the free-tier allowance | 10× the free-tier allowance |
Free-tier limits are dynamic
Free-tier limits adjust with traffic and load on the service. They are not a fixed constant.
Current reference numbers (not a commitment)
The following are illustrative reference values only—not a guarantee—and may change at any time:
- Pro users may see something like ~100 basic-model messages per day, ~30 DeepSeek V3.2 calls, and ~30 Gemini 3 Flash calls per day without credit deduction while within included usage (see what the product shows).
Always trust the live counters and settlement UI in the app.
Expert models
Expert-tier models currently have no aligned “included usage” like the tiers above; usage is generally billed under the credit rules.
Credits per message after included usage (ranges)
After you exceed included usage, each message typically falls in these rough ranges (actual cost depends on context, tools, model routing, etc.):
| Model tier | Typical range per message (credits) |
|---|---|
| Basic models | 1–2 |
| Advanced models | 2–5 |
| Expert models | 3–10 |
These are ranges, not fixed per-message prices—verify with actual deductions.
Takeaways
- Included usage costs 0 credits; beyond that, credits depend on tier and usage.
- Pro / Max multipliers and “unlimited” basic models are summarized in the table above.
- Concrete free / Pro counts are dynamic—do not treat examples in this article as commitments.
