How Advanced Tasks Consume Credits

How advanced-task credits are derived from token usage, and how completed, interrupted, and failed runs are billed—with examples and a reference table.

Advanced tasks are still being improved. During this rollout period, substantial credit discounts apply, and the discount multiplier will gradually change over time. The following describes how credits are calculated (if this policy changes, the latest in-product notice prevails).

What billing is based on

Charges are driven by token usage for the task. Tokens are converted into raw credits according to platform rules, then the rules below determine how many credits are billed.

Task status definitions

Status Meaning
failed The run failed on the system side
interrupted The user stopped the task manually
completed The task finished successfully

Rules at a glance

  1. failed: 0 credits charged (never billed).
  2. Before April 22, 2026: all advanced tasks are free.
  3. April 22, 2026 to May 22, 2026:
    • completed: the portion of raw credits above 10 is weighted by 0.2 when added to the billable total;
    • interrupted: the portion of raw credits above 10 is weighted by 0.1.
  4. May 22, 2026 to June 22, 2026:
    • completed: the portion of raw credits above 10 is weighted by 0.5;
    • interrupted: the portion of raw credits above 10 is weighted by 0.25.
  5. After June 22, 2026:
    • completed: the portion of raw credits above 10 is weighted by 0.75;
    • interrupted: the portion of raw credits above 10 is weighted by 0.5.
  6. During paid stages, raw credits ≤ 10 (inclusive) are not discounted and are billed at full weight (see examples; amounts may be rounded when posted).
  7. Cap: billable credits for a single task are capped at 100 (subject to what the product shows at settlement time).

Stage boundaries are subject to the settlement details shown in the product.

Example table

The rows below use the April 22, 2026 to May 22, 2026 discount stage as an example. They assume 1 USD = 25 raw credits to illustrate raw credits and billed credits; fractional results are rounded down to whole credits.

Cost (USD) Credit Status Billed Notes
0.3 7.5 completed 7 Below the 10-credit threshold; billed in line with full weight (rounded)
0.4 10 completed 10 Exactly at the threshold; no discount on the first 10
0.4 10 interrupted 10 Same as above
0.5 12.5 completed 10 Excess: 10 + 2.5×0.2 = 10.5 → 10 (round down)
1.0 25 completed 13 10 + 15×0.2 = 13
1.0 25 interrupted 11 10 + 15×0.1 = 11.5 → 11 (round down)
Any Any failed 0 Not charged

Takeaways

  • Failed runs are free; all advanced tasks before April 22, 2026 are free. After that, rollout-stage discount multipliers apply to the excess portion above 10 raw credits, with a 100-credit cap per task.
